Dirty Days in Fun City

(in production)

Dirty Days in Fun City unearths the overlooked 1968 New York sanitation strike — a pivotal labor action that helped inspire the Black-led uprising in Memphis, where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated demanding dignity for workers. Centered in New York but spanning both cities, the film traces the entwined histories of labor and waste to reveal how race, class, and power determine who — and what — gets discarded.
